I know some of you moms are needing help in some specific ways today. Will you remember this promise? “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” (Is 41:13) Sometimes the help God provides looks different from how we would provide it to others or ourselves and we often pray that God would solve our problems according to our desires. How many times have we asked God to work His power into what we feel is best and how we want things to go? Guilty!
If you pray today, will you ask God to give you the help that He deems best according to HIS plans for you? Can you trust that He DOES have a plan for the outcome, even if you are in the midst of waiting and can’t see how the questions will become answered? “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (Jer 29:11)
In the meantime, as you wait, you can trust that God is at work in both you and your situation, accomplishing His very best. The result may end up having more to do more with your character and what He is shaping IN you, rather than how He is shaping your circumstance. My prayer for you today is that you will seek, depend and trust–a lot can happen in those meantimes! “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid.” Is 12:2
{Melinda} This is a good word for me today, Linda. I am waiting on some things that I have prayed for and dreamt of for years — and it seems I am right on the very cusp of these things happening. And then they aren’t. And I’m very frustrated that they aren’t happening. I know I have to keep going back to the Source and trusting that His timing is perfect. I KNOW that, but it is still hard to wait. Sigh.
It is so hard to wait, Melinda. Psalm 130 tells us how we wait for the LORD and how in His word we put our hope. Very often, as you know, God is more concerned about our character than He is about the very thing we are waiting for. I pray that He uses this time in ways that will develop you spiritually and that He give you His peace and comfort in the meantime. May what you are waiting for come to pass (if He wills it) and may He receive the glory when it does! Remember, a delay is not a no…your story is still being written. 🙂
Thank you for your honest heart, Alexis, I love what you said about the 5 minutes of worry that follow…that could not be more true! Why can’t we just relax in His hands at times?! I can relax for your circumstances just fine and really feel that peace for you but not for my own…lol! Yes, I think the means is necessary…for in the means is that shaping, growing, maturity, trusting and everything else He wants us to have. God does care more about how we are waiting than what we are waiting for…the story of our relationship with Him that will have big blessings in ways He sees fit. So tick-tock for us all… 🙂
