How do you capture who you once were or become who you want to be? For me, prayer, daily dependence on God and reading His Word have been key in discovering this answer.
God never stops leading us even when we are at a standstill. Our following requires waiting and remaining faithful to Him in the process.
Would you leave the waiting room despite growing impatient to see your doctor? Probably not. You wait to receive your physician’s prescribed treatment, remedy, diagnosis or opinion. Waiting on God is no different (except He never runs late!) He may not be working on our timetable but His expertise is immeasurably invaluable and certainly worth seeking – even if it means waiting for an extended period of time.
Hold true to the promise that God created us and knows who He has created. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13) You are by His design.
Let’s look at some passages to see how God’s plans for us, including our identity, are truly with purpose and intention. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (Jer. 29:11)
God is moving you forward in your role as mother, individual and as His child…with a plan and identity uniquely yours.
